Richard A. Howell

Vice President, Mobile Payments

Richard Howell is Vice President and head of the Mobile Payments division, which was created by the acquisition of Commerciant in April, 2009. Based in Houston, Texas, the division manufactures and distributes Mobilescape, the wireless, handheld payment processing solution for credit cards and checks.

Mr. Howell has 18 years of experience in the high technology field, starting his career as a systems engineer at EDS, followed by five years on the graphing calculator team in the educational products division at Texas Instruments. Howell joined his first software company in 1996, and over the next ten years led marketing and sales operations functions at a number of Silicon Valley-based companies, including customer interaction E-Business infrastructure provider KANA and enterprise lease management software pioneer Captara. As public relations counsel for RAE Systems, he produced over 40 articles and white papers on wireless sensing networks.

Mr. Howell holds an MBA from The Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Psychology and German from Baylor University.
