In order to deposit checks from your office, you'll need a scanner that meets the digital imaging requirements of the Check 21 Act — most "off-the-shelf" scanners can't create check images that are legal for deposit.

The EC7000i is a two-sided scanning option for businesses and billers that process a low to medium volume of checks. Manufactured by the RDM Corporation, the scanner can also frank checks with a physical mark once they've been read.

Panini My VisionX30

My VisionX Fact Sheet

For users who handle a larger volume of checks, the Panini My Vision series offers a hopper-feed intake for reading multiple checks in succession. The X30 can read up to 30 checks per minute; other models that read 60 or 90 documents per minute are available by special order.

MagTek Excella

Excella Fact Sheet

Another high-volume scanner, the MagTek Excella can hold up to 70 checks in its hopper at one time and is also capable of running in a network environment. Billers or businesses that receive a high number of checks on certain days of the month may wish to consider a hopper-fed scanner.
